Hamm Center – A fatal traffic accident occurred on Sunday, April 21, at 1:57 am at the intersection of Otto-Brenner-Strasse and Wilhelmstrasse.

A 21-year-old man was driving a Renault out of town on Wilhelmstrasse and wanted to turn left onto Otto-Brenner-Strasse. Apart from the driver, there were three other people in the car. At the same time, a 26-year-old man was driving an Audi on the other side of Wilhelmstrasse and wanted to drive straight through the intersection to the city center. There were two other passengers in his car.

When both drivers reached the intersection, the Renault driver turned left onto Otto-Brenner-Straße without letting the Audi driver pass. This caused the two vehicles to collide at the intersection. The Renault then hit a parked Ford on Otto-Brenner-Strasse.

The passengers aged 24 and 23 in the Renault car were injured in the accident and were taken by ambulance to Hammer Hospital for inpatient treatment. The driver of the Audi and his passenger aged 27 and 25 were also injured. The vehicles involved suffered material damage of around 12,000 euros.
