The chip shortage that has had a detrimental effect on global automotive production in recent years will decrease in the course of this year. That is the hope of Hans Schep, general manager of Ford Pro Europe. Schep made the remarks during an interview after the presentation of the Ford Pro, a new concept of the brand’s main service.

Ford and its suppliers “have taken many steps to solve problems,” said the Dutchman. The situation will improve further through solutions for retailers. Simplification of production and increased efficiency, among other things, lead to improvements, so that more chips can be released.

Earlier the CEO of BMW Zipse spoke words with the same effect; he expects to see improvement in 2023.

War of Ukraine

During the interview, Schep said that the situation in Ukraine has no influence on Ford production. Although the Russian factory is closed, the car manufacturer does not have major economic problems due to the situation in the area, according to the Dutchman.
