Harrison Ford gives an unequivocal verdict on his digital revival in Indiana Jones 5

In “Indiana Jones 5” we see Harrison Ford digitally recreated for a long time. Now he has shared his opinion about it.

“Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny” is the longest episode of the series: the final film lasts almost two and a half hours Harrison Ford like Indiana Jones. At first we will experience a flashback with young Indy for about half an hour. For this, Ford was renewed with the help of reducing digital aging. However, technology, which is increasingly used in Hollywood, often causes concern among fans, since the digital revival is not always convincing.

Harrison Ford himself has his own young version but very satisfied. He opened up during the Indiana Jones 5 press conference after the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival (via deadline):

“Technology has reached a point where it affects me very true it works and i know that’s my face. It’s not Photoshop magic, it’s how I looked 35 years ago because Lucasfilm has every look from the movies we’ve made together over the years. And that process, that professional evaluation of that library, has been used well… If it’s not supported by a story, then it’s just a trick and it sticks out like a sore thumb when it’s not honest, it’s not true. .. I mean real emotional. And so I think it was used very skillfully.

The trailer for the new Indy movie gives you a first taste:

Harrison Ford is seeing great benefits at his current age

Harrison Ford is “very pleased” with the end result. Despite that, he doesn’t miss his teenage years too much. On the contrary: “I am very happy with my age. I like to be older. It was nice to be young, but I could die, I’m still working instead.”

While Steven Spielberg, who is not directing “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny” for the first time in the history of the series, already praised the latest part, the first reviews after the premiere varied from caution to disappointment. Applause after the premiere did not indicate joy either. But perhaps many people will discover “Indiana Jones 5” in a completely different way. We will know when the movie will be released June 29, 2023 begins in German cinema. Until then, you can stream all four episodes of the series on Paramount+.
