Ford is announcing an improved E-Transit with a range of 402 km

The current electric version of Ford’s largest car can, at best, drive around 300 km on a full charge of the battery – if you choose the version with a top speed reduced to 90 km / h. For some customers this is on the small side, so there will be a version with a bigger battery. It can also load faster.

The new model has a usable battery capacity of 89 kWh for a maximum driving range of 402 km, as well as fast charging functionality. For example, the DC fast charging capacity increases to 180 kW and an on-board charger of 22 kW instead of 11 kW is available as an option. This is very attractive to customers who can charge with high-voltage current in the company.

The extended E-Transit line is designed specifically for customers who operate in rural areas, cold climates or on routes that require highway operations. The powertrain also complements modified vehicles that require more weight and additional power.

And there is still good news: the maintenance time of the new E-Transit will be doubled. So you no longer have to go to the garage every year, but only every two years, regardless of how many kilometers you drive. Customers can order the new model later this year, and the first products are expected in 2025.
