A resident of Bełchatów poviat saw an Opel that went into a ditch. When he approached the driver, he smelled alcohol coming from him. So without hesitation he took the keys out of the car ignition and stopped the man from continuing his journey.
A dangerous situation occurred in Dobrzelów in Bełchatów district. When the police were called to the scene they discovered, an unfortunate witness saw an Opel Astra that had gone into a ditch.
A citizen who intervened approached the car to see if its driver needed help while trying to get it out of the ditch. It turned out that the Opel driver was drunk. He smelled of alcohol. In such a case the witness responded immediately. He turned off the car’s engine and took an unrelated person’s keys from the ignition. Thus, he prevented him from continuing his journey. The uniforms confirmed that the car was driven by a 42-year-old resident of Bełchatów. A sobriety test showed that he had 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his body. He has already lost his driving license. He is also facing a prison sentence of up to 2 years and severe financial consequences.
