Hello Austria – Subaru XV 2.0i e-BOXER on test

In the 2021 model year, Subaru XV offers more safety and driving pleasure. The extended all-wheel drive control and the dynamic transmission control (E-Active Shift Control) further improve the already good handling.

At Guten Tag Austria Autotest, we took a closer look at the Subaru XV 2.0i e-BOXER, model year 2021 in the Premium equipment variant.

In relation to the e-Boxer hybrid system, the Subaru XV now also has the familiar SI-Drive from other Subaru models as standard: The engine characteristics can be adjusted through two modes “I” (intelligence) and “S” (sport). to suit your personal driving style. In S mode, a new transmission control contributes to more driving dynamics. In a sports corner, this not only ensures better engine braking torque when starting or stopping, but also maintains engine speed and acceleration when exiting the corner. Engine braking torque is also noticeable when driving downhill.

In addition to SI Drive, the electric crossover model benefits from the X-Mode all-wheel drive assistance system. Ready to go out Forester known, the driver can now also choose between two modes on the Subaru XV: “SNOW/DIRT” (“snow/dirt”) and “DEEP SNOW/TOPE” (“deep snow/mud”) are available, X-Mode can. Doing so improves traction even in the most difficult terrain. Subaru has also given the XV revised front springs and shock absorbers. Bumps are now smoother for occupants.

Modified front end

The facelift of the Subaru XV is also visible in terms of optics: in addition to the new rims, the Subaru XV now also has a revised front end. A new chrome clip anchors the brand logo to the radiator grill and emphasizes the sporty and solid character. In addition, the front bumper has been slightly changed optically, the fog lights have been modified. There are seven colors to choose from for the 84 kW/114 hp 1.6-liter boxer, and there are even ten exterior colors for the electronic box, including the new Horizon Blue Pearl tones and the same as our test car’s Plasma Yellow. Pearl and Dark Blue Pearl, reserved for the electrified model only.

In the 2021 model year, the Subaru XV 2.0i e-BOXER version in the Premium equipment variant with the already previous example presented Highlights also include a glass sunroof, an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory capability and black and blue leather seats with blue stitching.

Warranty: As with all Subaru models, the Subaru XV e-BOXER also comes with an extensive warranty package. This includes a three-year warranty including a mobility guarantee of up to 100,000 km, a 12-year warranty against corrosion, a three-year warranty against surface corrosion and a two-year warranty on spare parts and original equipment.
