Tesla Supercharger Network Access
As recently announced, Honda and Acura customers will have access to Tesla Supercharger stations with the adoption of the North American Charging Standard (NACS). In 2024 Honda Prelude and the Acura ZDX will have a port for the Combined Charging System (CCS), but all electric SUVs are planned to be NACS compatible through the use of a charging adapter.

Honda plans to launch a new NACS-equipped EV model in North America in 2025. From then on, Honda will continue to use NACS standards for its models.

EV Partnership Charging Network
American Honda also recently announced that it has agreed to establish a cooperation among the world’s seven leading car manufacturers – BMW Group, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz Group, Stellantis NV – to create a premium network of EVs with the aim of building a reliable charging infrastructure to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles in North America, by making EV charging more convenient, accessible and reliable.

Expected to launch this year, the joint venture aims to become the leading network of reliable high-power charging stations in North America. Each site will have multiple high-power DC chargers, making long-distance travel easier for customers. In line with the sustainability strategies of the seven automakers, the joint venture intends to set up a payment network exclusively for renewable energy.

The new charging stations will be accessible to all battery electric vehicles from any automaker using CCS or NACS and are expected to meet or exceed the spirit and requirements of the US National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program.
