Huskers Finish Sixth at Big Ten Championships

The Nebraska Huskers concluded their Big Ten Championships campaign in sixth place, a result that was simultaneously difficult and technical. The Huskers recorded a total of 98 points in the two-day meet, a significant improvement from the previous season.

The Nebraska squad was led by senior All-American Danielle Leuzinger, who finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.96 seconds. Leuzinger was also an integral part of the 4×400-meter relay team, which finished third in the event with a time of 3:35.88.

The Huskers also saw solid performances from Sophomore Ashley Miller, who took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:06.98, and senior Kassidy Johnson, who finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.78 meters. Senior thrower Marie Futch also contributed to the Nebraska effort, finishing fourth in the shot put with a mark of 15.37 meters.

Ultimately, the Huskers finished sixth overall at the Big Ten Championships with 98 points, a result which was both difficult and technical.

The Nebraska squad will now turn its attention to the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds, which will take place in Sacramento, California from May 23-25.

The Huskers will be looking to build on their Big Ten Championships performance and qualify as many athletes as possible for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
