Hyundai and Kia replace DAL-e Delivery robot – New Tech


The new design and advanced technology of DAL-e Delivery, Hyundai and Kia’s delivery robot that will go into service at IGIS’ new Seongsu Factory in Seoul in the second quarter of this year.
Based on the knowledge gained from the previous project, the two brands have updated it to ensure fast and reliable delivery services. In fact, to improve its stability, the DAL-e Edition, which is based on four Plug & Drive modules, combines the motor with the steering, suspension, braking systems and environmental detection sensors, has a square shape and corners with circular and sensors connected in an almost invisible way. The robot in question, with an elegant design, is capable of reaching a speed of 1.2 m/s, with independent PnD modules as well as advanced autonomous driving technology to detect obstacles and navigate easily in congested areas.
In addition to having an improved suspension, the DAL-e Delivery also boasts small dimensions and a large cargo space capable of holding up to 16 cups of coffee and carrying products weighing up to 10 kg. Thanks to autonomous driving, this robot it has the ability to move around all floors of the building, using doors and elevators to ensure a fast delivery service that uses advanced facial recognition technology to identify the recipient with 99.9% accuracy.
