Hyundai Bayon LPG is a benefit that aims to save every day – ANSA Motori Test

A good balance between comfort and everyday savings are the ingredients of Hyundai Bayon’s winning recipe in its LPG version. To test the real potential of the Korean telecommunications company, ANSA Motori conducted a long-term test of the 1.2 LPG Xline version, which largely confirmed expectations. The first view, on the outside, is that of an effect with a certain line, especially on the back which suddenly ‘falls’ vertically, the protagonist of a bold reference to the styles and bodywork of past times. As original in its lines as it is modern in its interior and generous in its equipment. Easy and safe to drive in all conditions also thanks to the driving aids that are obvious for a car in this category, however it does not have sprinting in its DNA. The 1.2 engine, with 84 HP (82 using LPG) allows smooth driving, despite the physiological sluggishness of the engine it is certainly not designed to burn traffic lights.

The manual gearbox is also pleasant, compact and precise. The highlight of the Hyundai Bayon, as well as the LPG version of our test, is its housing. The doors open at right angles, to make access to the passenger compartment easy, which is comfortable and large in relation to the car’s external dimensions (418 cm). Hyundai Bayon’s dashboard has a classic style, and the air conditioner vents are inserted into a horizontal grille type. Although carefully assembled, all the plastics are stiff and the 8-inch multimedia system’s display is occasionally unresponsive. For navigation you need to use Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The dashboard is digital, 10.3”, and easy to read.

Unfortunately, it only shows the consumption and the amount of gasoline left, while to find out how much LPG remains you need to look at the bottom left of the steering wheel, where the button to switch from gasoline to gas and vice versa is located. Illuminated LEDs indicate the amount of LPG available. The luggage space is not bad, even if the LPG cylinder of 37.6 liters, placed in the room that normally houses the spare wheel, reduces the capacity of the trunk by 18 liters, of which the sofa used is 393 liters (1187 liters by folding the rear parts). In terms of consumption, then, in the urban and extra urban way on gasoline, we traveled on average 16.9 km / l. And LPG value stood at more than 12.9 good. And LPG, as we know, is cheap.
