ID.7 Tourer GTX: top-of-the-range convertible model – Autonieuws

  • Power output: 250 kW/340 hp with electric 4MOTION
  • Standard with an 86 kWh battery pack; fast charging up to 200 kW

The ID.7 Tourer GTX is the new top model within Volkswagen’s electric ID. It owes its high performance to the drive motor with two electric motors, system power of 250 kW / 340 hp and 4MOTION wheel drive. It is distinguished by a sporty look and many standard accessories, including IQ.Light LED matrix lights and 3D LED lights on the back. A market introduction is planned for this summer.

The new ID.7 Tourer GTX has two electric motors: one drives the front axle, the other the rear axle. This means that every ID.7 Tourer GTX has four-wheel drive. System power is 250 kW/340 hp, making this Volkswagen station wagon the most powerful ever. Performance is top-notch, and the top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h.

New 86 kWh battery pack

A new 86 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is standard on the GTX and raises the bar on all fronts. For example, the expected range for the ID.7 Tourer GTX is 625 km*. It is suitable for fast charging with 200 kW, where the maximum level of identification was until now 175 kW. Charging the battery pack from 10-80% takes clearly less than 30 minutes under ideal conditions.

Driving pleasure and ease of use

In addition to high performance, there are more factors that contribute to the fun of the ID.7 Tourer GTX. For example, 4MOTION all-wheel drive enables variable distribution of drive power, with electronic limited slip differentials (XDS+) as standard. The 4MOTION all-wheel drive has the added advantage that the ID.7 Tourer GTX has a high towing capacity (the exact towing capacity is not yet known). Continuous drive is also included and with a choice of different driving modes, you can choose the right configuration for every ride: from comfortable to highly dynamic. Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) is available as an option.

Sporty appearance

With GTX-specific accents such as a new bumper, grille in a honeycomb pattern, gloss black body elements and 20-inch ‘Skagen’ alloy wheels (21-inch optional), the streamlined look of the new ID.7 Tourer gets a sporty touch. IQ.Light LED matrix headlights and illuminated Volkswagen logos front and rear are standard. A new feature of the GTX is a daylight in the shape of an arrow head. Additionally, the ID.7 Tourer GTX is available with a large panoramic glass roof and smart glass. This roof changes from light to dark or vice versa by pressing a button or voice command.

The ID.7 Tourer GTX has a wheelbase of 2.97 meters and therefore offers plenty of space for five passengers. The luggage compartment measures 605 liters as standard and even 1,714 liters with the rear seats folded. The loading space of the bus has a height of not less than 1.95 meters. Large objects are also easy to load thanks to the 1.00 meter width between the wheel arches.

GTX Environment: gaming luxury

The interior of the ID.7 Tourer GTX is sporty. The special heated seats are covered in a fabric blend with ArtVelours and finished with a perforated GTX logo and red stitching. The multitasking sports steering wheel also features red stitching along with other red accents and GTX lettering. An augmented reality display, ambient lighting (30 colors), three-zone Climatronic automatic climate control, keyless entry and an alarm system are also included in the standard equipment.

IDA voice assistant, ChatGPT integration

The new IDA voice assistant responds to natural language usage. ChatGPT integration will be available as an update. IDA can of course be used to run various car functions, but it is also possible to ask questions about various topics. Because ChatGPT can access various online databases, these are answered quickly.
