India a Lynchpin to Skoda’s internationalisation plan, EVs part of future roadmap: Klaus Zellmer, CEO, Skoda Auto

In an effort to extend its global reach, Skoda Auto, a Czech car manufacturer, has revealed India to be a lynchpin in its internationalisation plan. According to CEO Klaus Zellmer, electric vehicles (EVs) are also part of the company’s future roadmap.

Speaking at the Auto Expo 2020 in Greater Noida, Zellmer expressed Skoda Auto’s commitment to the Indian market, noting that the country is a key component of its internationalisation strategy. He declared that the company is keen to expand its presence in the country, with EVs being a priority.

Zellmer highlighted that India has become a major market for the carmaker, with the potential to compete in the global arena. He also noted that EVs have become an important part of the company’s strategy, as more and more countries are turning to them to reduce air pollution.

The CEO stated that Skoda Auto is working on a comprehensive EV strategy for India, with a focus on developing cars that will meet the requirements of the local market. He added that the company has invested heavily in research and development, in order to ensure that its EVs are of the highest quality and performance.

Moreover, Zellmer noted that Skoda Auto is looking to collaborate with local partners to further its EV ambitions in India. He concluded that the company is determined to make India a key part of its internationalisation plan, and that EVs are an integral part of its future roadmap.
