Formula 1 fans: a confession from Daniel Ricciardo / Formula 1

Sebastian Vettel proves that Formula 1 stars also live a very normal life and can even get around using public transport. The four-time champion explained recently in an interview with our colleague from “NZZ” when asked if a star like him can do this easily: “Actually, I don’t have a problem with it at all.”

“I also don’t understand when other famous people are surprised that they can be recognized or harassed,” added Heppenheimer, who lives in Switzerland. “I always tell them: Yes, you too can take a bus or a train. Of course I’m not Roger Federer, maybe it’s a little different to him. But I think most people travel because they want to go somewhere, not because they want to recognize anyone.”

However, GP stars are more often recognized when they are out and about in private. And some people sometimes get unwanted attention. That’s why Daniel Ricciardo sometimes lies to the fans, as the Australian said in a video on the official Formula 1 YouTube channel.

“Sometimes when someone asks me if I am the racing driver Daniel Ricciardo, I answer: ‘No, but I often hear that.’ Then when they leave, somehow I don’t feel good. “Sometimes I go and say it’s me, but sometimes I think it’s very boring,” admits the 34-year-old.
