Infiniti unveils QX Monograph concept | Car news

Infiniti took advantage of the activities of the Monterey Car Week, held in California, to reveal the concept, QX Monograph. This model, we told you about it a few days ago, is used to create the design of the brand’s future products.

What is clear is that we are seeing a second production version of the QX80. The company did not hint at the end during the presentation of the model at Pebble Beach, but the design of the car is not a lie.

The concept lines don’t hold any big surprises for us. It is part of the logical continuation that was last presented with the QX60 Monograph. However, we notice some interesting features when we take a moment to look at the pictures of the car.

This is the case of the daytime running lights that are located at the end of the hood and on each side of the grille. The latter adopts the signature “piano keys” for a unique and recognizable presence, as well as a featured intro and outro sequence. For the grid, completely renewed and with a modified symbol, it should evoke a bamboo forest.

From the side, we see a very refined character of the design with a very horizontal belt line, door handles placed inside the bodywork and windows that seem to be free. At the rear, a belt connects the signature lights that consist of red blocks of different sizes. The rims are of course large and their design, Infinity mentions, is inspired by wind turbines.

As for the mirrors, they take the form of units that are ready for production instead of the thin design seen with many concepts. This is what makes us say that we are not too far from this production and stylistic research.

Mechanically, Infiniti has not announced anything. We’ll have to see if the powertrain, one way or another, will be present this time with the QX80.
