Nissan, Infiniti recall Rogue, Pathfinder, QX60 SUVs | Car news

Nissan and Infiniti are recalling three 2023 models to fix an issue with the driver’s seat.

– Target models are Rogue, Pathfinder, as well as QX60 from Infiniti.

– Seat frame welds may fail in the event of a collision.

– In total, 12,000 models are being recalled, including 455 in Canada.

The Nissan Group, which includes the luxury division of Infiniti, recalls that it includes the Rogue and Patfhinder SUVs within the parent company, as well as the QX60 in the luxury brand. All affected models are 2023 products.

The problem is related to the shape of the seat. In fact, the end welds may fail in the event of a collision.

“The power driver’s seat may not be fully secured in the frame of certain Nissan Rogue, Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 vehicles,” says a report sent by Nissan to NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), according to Transport Canada.

The number of affected models is small at just over 12,000 in total, including 455 in Canada, but the problem can cause serious injuries or even death in the event of a collision. That is why owners need to be informed.

Unfortunately, there are no warning signs of trouble, the company says. The seats will need to be inspected by a technician to see if they are properly secured. Dealers will need to verify the distance between the driver’s seat rail and the inner support of the driver’s seat. If necessary, they will need to replace the frame of the driver’s seat cushion. The job can be done in less than two hours.

Owners of affected vehicles should expect to receive notices before June.
