Rumor has it that the LEGO Lamborghini Countach has its work cut out for it

The rumored LEGO 10337 Lamborghini Countach has its work cut out for it before it even hits the market, thanks to a cool version of the car already available if you know where to look…

It reportedly hits shelves July 1 for $179.99 (according to itavixbrix via Brick Clicker), the Lamborghini Countach 10337 is said to be the next addition to the ever-growing LEGO Garage Icons line. This means it will be on par with the 10265 Ford Mustang, 10321 Corvette and so on. But the classic car from the 70s with its wedge-shaped frame can actually be made in LEGO at this size. All you need is a 10295 Porsche 911 replica.

If you were to try some sort of site-wide analysis of Rebrickable, you’d probably find that the majority of rebrickable builds hosted on the LEGO fan site are cars. Whether it’s eight dimensions of speed champions or the larger scale of Expert/Creator Icons, tankers have no shortage of custom builds or alternatives to fill their LEGO garages. And among these are The best Lamborghini calculation by Firas Abu-Jaber.

Designed and built entirely from components included in 10295 Porsche 911s, it’s one of the largest and most accessible alternatives available, well, anywhere. All you need to do is grab a copy of the LEGO 2021 Icons Roadster and download the Countach instructions from Rebrickable, and you’re good to go. You can check out our mockup for a closer look at how it works, but suffice it to say there are only a few areas where additional art will help.

Otherwise, it’s surprising how many Porsche parts can be converted into a Countach, and that means that the official model of the LEGO Group, if it exists as a rumor, is already facing an uphill battle. You’d think that the official set would benefit from new parts or a repaint to round out those fine details and soften the lines, but it’s actually hard to find many areas of Firas’ design that need significant improvement.

In fact, the price difference between the Porsche 10295 911 and the Lamborghini Countach 10337 works in favor of the new set: the Lambo would cost only $10 more than the Porsche, so by the time you factor in the cost of orders from Firas. , most people will choose the formal style anyway. But if you’ve already built Firas’s Countach, or own a Porsche 10295 911 model, you might struggle to justify investing in a version that might be slightly better than this particular model.

We’ll know for sure — and hopefully be able to compare the two — if and when LEGO Group pulls the curtain on the 10337 Lamborghini Countach. Meanwhile, consider all the details of this supposedly unconfirmed collection…

Chris Wharfe

I like to think of myself as a journalist first and a LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not the case. Journalism runs through my veins, though, like a strange kind of literary blood — the kind that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced performance of art. It’s like smoking, only worse. Luckily, I can write about LEGO until then.
