Is a third Manthey Porsche in the DTM more likely? / DTM

Is it true about the rumor that three Manthey Porsches will debut in the DTM in 2025? SPEEDWEEK heard at the Dubai 24 Hours that the car will definitely compete in the DTM with young talent.

On New Year’s Eve 2024, SPEEDWEEK reported on rumors that the third Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R could be launched in 2025. It seems there is more truth to the rumor than many wanted to believe at first!

As part of the Dubai 24 hours, SPEEDWEEK heard from the legendary Porsche racing team that the third Manthey Porsche will definitely start in the DTM! An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.

Young Dutchman Morris Schuring, who raced well with Manthey in last year’s FIA WEC and won the LMGT3 class at the 24h Le Mans, will be behind the wheel. The youngster previously won with Richard Lietz and Yasser Shahin at the Ardennes roller coaster at Spa-Francorchamps and ended the racing year in second place in the LMGT3 category.

Schuring also took the wheel of a Grello for the first time at the season finale of the Nürburgring Endurance Series – another indication that the Porsche racing team from Meuspath has more plans for Morris Schuring!

Schring also recently announced the exciting news of 2025 in his Instagram story, for which preparations have already begun. This would also speak in favor of the DTM program for the young Dutchman.

The team, which won all the DTM championships in 2023, has not yet released full details about its DTM campaign this year. “Manthey is currently working on continuing its participation in the DTM in the 2025 season,” said Porsche in an official press release regarding the announcement of the program surrounding the traditional Night of Champions.

According to SPEEDWEEK information, there was no question of the continuation of the program in DTM, but only in what conditions this would happen. 2023 DTM Champion Thomas Preining and Ayhancan Güven will continue to sit in the cockpits of the team.
