There is no doubt that Duster has given Dacia a new lease of life. When this versatile model debuted in 2010, it tempted customers with a very attractive price and won the hearts of consumers with its capabilities. The fact that it was a successful model is confirmed by the fact that only after seven years of production Dacia decided to introduce a new Duster. This also turned out to be a hit, because we had to wait seven years for its successor. But that time has finally come and here is the third generation Dacia Duster.

The new Dacia Duster – more modern than ever

What is interesting is the continuation of the proven style of Duster. In fact, when we compare the latest model with its predecessor, we will immediately see a big change. But even briefly looking at the third generation, we have no doubt that we are dealing with Duster, but more modern. The designers show that thanks to the style, the latest Dacia SUV should look like a solid and durable structure.

We have to wait until April 2024 to confirm this guarantee, because then the first drives of Romanian novels will take place (the acceptance of orders will start in February next year, and the first units are scheduled for delivery in May). But now it is important to emphasize the modernity of the design, which, despite the combination of sharp lines and simple shapes, looks light, which is not so obvious in the case of SUVs. The upright front end is matched by visible wheel arch covers with curved edges and a wide trunk lid. The exterior character of the new Duster is emphasized by a protective belt in the form of a lower edge that surrounds the body and visually connects with the wheel covers and bumpers.

During the presentation of the new Duster, we learned that the front and rear fascias are solid colors and the color versions were deliberately omitted. The new Dacia Duster is more spacious than before

However, while a lot of working experience is only important for the driver, all passengers will appreciate the space, which is a step forward compared to its predecessors. There is no reason to expect miracles, after all, we are dealing with a car with a length of 4,343 mm (wheelbase 2,657 mm), but in fact there is a lot of space in front and legroom for passengers sitting in the back. This includes: the effect of placing the new Duster on the CMF-B platform. It seems even worse when we talk about the width of the back seat. Only two adults can talk about comfort here. On the positive side, it is worth considering the 6% increase. trunk width, which in the front-wheel drive version can now carry up to 472 liters.

Contrary to appearances, taking a new Dacia off the beaten track is not a sign of madness. Although there will be no reduction gear version, in addition to front-wheel drive, the new Dacia Duster will also be offered with 4×4 Terrain Control drive that offers five driving modes (Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, Off-road and Eco). Traveling off-road is facilitated by the highest ground clearance and large approach / departure angles (217 mm and 31 degrees in front / 36 degrees in the back, respectively, for the 4×4 version).

The new Traffic Information System is also handy when driving off-road. This, via the central 10.1-inch screen, displays important information when traveling off-road. The driver can monitor the vehicle’s side angles, tilt angles to assess the direction of slopes when driving up or down, as well as power distribution to the front and rear axles (4×4 version).

In addition, drivers can rely on a number of features, including: automatic low beam on all trim levels, automatic low and high beam switching as standard on Extreme and Journey, and standard cruise control that starts and the Expression method. New Dacia Duster – a new direction of performance thanks to YouClip

A very interesting solution is YouClip, a simple but practical system for attaching a number of devices. Depending on the version, the new Duster has four (Key Edition) or six YouClip factory mounting points – one on the dashboard, the passenger side of the center console and the rear side of the center console, two on the trunk and one. inside the trunk lid.

New Dacia Duster – hybrid car, LPG version with an impressive range

Although there is still some time left before the start of the market and the marriage work is still ongoing, it is already known that the new Dacia Duster will share, among others, the Hybrid 140 car system, already known from the Dacia Jogger. It consists of a 1.6 petrol engine with a power of 94 HP, two electric units (49 HP engine and alternator high-voltage starter) and direct electric transmission.

The second option will be the TCe 130 car, starting in the entire Dacia range. It is a combination of a 3-1.2-cylinder gasoline engine and a micro-hybrid system (48 V). It is already known that this will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission in 4×2 and 4×4 versions.

In addition, the LPG gas-powered Duster ECO-G 100 will also enter the market. Its undoubted advantage, apart from the low emission of CO2 compared to its combustion counterparts, is its attractive type. Thanks to two tanks – 50 liters of gasoline and 50 liters of usable capacity of the LPG tank – Dacia Duster with gas installation can cover more than 1.3 thousand kilometers on one refueling. km (according to the WLTP standard).

All the technical details about Dacia Duster of the third generation will probably be known only at the beginning of 2024. The publication of the prices of the Romanian novel is planned for February next year. One thing is certain. It’s worth the wait, though considering what the latest Duster has to offer, you can’t count on a miracle in the form of such a low price. Although who knows, after all, it will be Christmas soon.
