News: Land Rover announces electric Range Rover

The Range Rover Electric will deliver power equivalent to that of the flagship Range Rover V8, and offers off-road capability thanks to Land Rover’s expert all-wheel drive system, which has been used since the first generation Range Rover from 1970. Field test now it has started. Development engineers do not only consider the difficult test conditions, but also want to ensure that this will be the quietest and most refined Range Rover, with unique Active Noise Concellation, sound design and a high level of interior comfort.

Design, development and manufacturing of the new Range Rover Electric is based entirely in the UK, based on the flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA). Production takes place in Solihull, on the same production line as the Mild Hybrid (MHEV) and Electric Hybrid (PHEV) versions of the Range Rover. For the first time, battery packs and electric motors will be built and assembled at JLR’s new Electric Drive Manufacturing Center in Wolverhampton. The plant plays a major role in Range Rover’s ambition to operate completely CO2-free by 2039.

Interested parties can register immediately to be placed on the waiting list, so they can be one of the first to place an order for the Range Rover Electric, even before the order books officially open.
