A year after announcing that it is considering a return to Europe, General Motors is starting to give some details on this topic. The American group should return to the Old Continent in the summer, but first it will focus on the Nordic countries, with American electric cars.

From 2035, all new cars sold in Europe will have to be electric or run on synthetic fuel. A decision that does not please all manufacturers, such as Toyota for example, which does not believe in all electricity, but which has now been recorded. despite the mistrust of some countries like Germany.

Indeed, another group from across the Atlantic is also very interested in our market. This is General Motors, which announced a year ago its desire to return with us. Sweden, Denmark or even Finland should also be affected, although nothing has yet been officially confirmed by the manufacturer. At the moment, it is also not known which cars will be part of the trip. But everything suggests that this is probably the case for the new Cadillac Lyriq but also for the Chevrolet Equinox, the real competitor of the Renault Mégane E-Tech on paper.

Will this also be the case for the Hummer EV? Not quite possible, since the Ford F-150 Electric just started its sale in Europe, through Norway. But the Hummer EV is not suitable for Europe, with high fuel consumption and a weight exceeding 3.5 tons unlike the Ford pickup.

It is possible that the electric Cadillac Lyriq is the first car of the group to cross the Atlantic, when the brand will be present this year at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. For the event, he will be engaged to a hybrid hypercar that will come to rub shoulders with the Peugeot 9X8.
