The Ford Mustang is celebrating its 60th anniversary with an anniversary edition

In addition to the fiftieth anniversary of the Volkswagen Golf, 2024 marks an important anniversary for another iconic model… especially in the Atlantic Ocean! The Ford Mustang is 60 years old and still has all its teeth. An opportunity for Ford to sell the 60th Anniversary Mustang this summer. But there is no specific technical configuration for the app as the features will be cosmetic only.

Ford Mustang – 59 or 60 years old in 2024?

Fun fact, Ford is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Mustang in 2024 with a limited edition of the 1965 units in reference to the appearance of the name Ford Mustang! Now, 2024 minus 60, that makes 1964. How can we explain this estimate? Very easily. In fact, the Mustang name was registered as such in 1965, but the model was registered in 1964 under the original name Ford 1964 ½.

Cosmetics only

In fact, the 60th Anniversary Ford Mustang will stand out through a specially designed package seventh generation Ford Mustang in its GT version “model year 2025”. It can be optioned on both the coupe and convertible and includes new 20-inch rims, side skirts, a custom grille inspired by the original design as well as a numbered plaque on the dashboard. In addition, the red and black “GT 60 Years” badges will recall the Ford Mustang badges and wheel covers presented at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. This package will offer a choice of three exterior colors – Wimbledon White, Vapor Blue or Race Red – and three interior trim colors: Space Grey, Carmine Red or Black Onyx.

However, you’ll have to wait until summer 2024 to be able to order a Ford Mustang with the 60th Anniversary package… and cross the Atlantic to do so. Although it is sold in Belgium, it is a safe bet that the package will not be released in our market.
