Enthusiasts of the iconic Jeep brand in Eastern Pennsylvania recently embarked on an excursion to the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, providing a unique opportunity to experience the age-old manufacturing process of the nation’s oldest beer.

Organized by the Jeep Enthusiasts of Eastern Pennsylvania (JEEP), the tour offered an in-depth look at the brewery’s operations, from fermentation and storage to packaging and shipping. Attendees were granted access to the facility’s malt house, where the barley used in production is converted into a malt extract, as well as the brew house, where the extract is mixed with hops and yeast to create the finished product.

At the conclusion of the tour, the group was invited to sample a variety of Yuengling beers, including the classic Lager and Light Lager, as well as the company’s limited-edition Black & Tan.

“It was an incredible experience,” said JEEP president Jim Smith. “It was amazing to see the dedication and craftsmanship that goes into producing one of the most iconic American beers. I’m sure everyone in our group left with a newfound appreciation for Yuengling.”

The tour was just the latest in a series of events organized by JEEP, which has been connecting Jeep owners in Eastern Pennsylvania since 2016. The group also sponsors monthly meetups, camping trips, and off-roading excursions.

“We’ve created an incredibly tight-knit community of Jeep lovers,” Smith said. “Our events are always a great way to meet new people and build friendships.”

For those interested in joining JEEP, membership is open to anyone who owns a Jeep or Jeep-like vehicle. Membership also includes access to exclusive events, discounts on Jeep parts and accessories, and a subscription to the JEEP quarterly magazine.

“We’re always looking for new members,” Smith said. “If you’re a Jeep enthusiast, we’d love to have you!”
