Jeremy Seewer (Kawasaki): Gajser Event / Motocross World Championship MXGP

Jeremy Seewer continues to make his mark in the Motocross MXGP class with the factory Kawasaki IceOne crew of Finnish icon Kimi Räikkönen. The 29-year-old Swiss from Bülach near Zurich had to settle for 11th and 7th on the deep sand of Riola Sardo in Sardinia on Sunday.

The gap to the leaders – more than a minute in both races – and the gap in the best lap times list was unusually wide in both races, despite good starts. Seewer took 8th place in the daily rankings and is currently sixth in the World Cup standings. Now it’s time for hard ground in Arco di Trento. “I’d like to start with a positive – I was able to qualify in both races at Riola,” Seewer said of last Sunday’s race.

“It was very difficult, the waves were relentless throughout the race day. “30 minutes is a different story,” says the MXGP vice-champion. “Tim (Gajser; remember) forced us off the track at turn 3 in the first race. After that I couldn’t find a rhythm anymore. I think it would have been enough for P6 or P7 otherwise, but I also had a bad crash.”

“The flow was much better in the second half,” reports Seeewer. “I was in P4 for almost half of the race. But I had lost so much power in run 1 that I had to settle for P7. Eighth place for the day is definitely not at my level,” admits Seewer, who is now looking for slopes that suit him better – like Arco This week we tested the hard slopes with the team on site in Belgium. Seewer wants to come to Arco well prepared.
