The updated Picanto can be ordered in the Netherlands in several versions, all of which are equipped with the 1.0 DPI petrol engine. The updated version of this naturally aspirated engine has improved exhaust gas circulation paths and improved valve timing on the intake side. The cooling of the combustion chambers has also been improved. The engine drives the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission (5MT) or an Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT). The latter is based on a five-speed manual gearbox, where connecting / disconnecting and shifting is automatic.

Security

The updated Picanto has Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and a package of active safety systems. Standard equipment on every Picanto includes Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning and Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Speed ​​Limit Assist, Lane Keeping Assist (LFA) and Forward Collision Assist (FCA). with vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian detection. The GT-Line is equipped with Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA 1.5) with Intersection Turning, Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) and Rear Collision Avoidance Assist.

Demonstrations

Kia Netherlands offers the updated Kia Picanto in four versions. The base model, DynamicLine, is fitted as standard with air conditioning, 8-inch full-map navigation, Kia Connect and Live services, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. It also has automatic lane keeping assist and automatic emergency brake assist for detecting pedestrians and cyclists.

DynamicPlusLine adds standard equipment with full LED headlights with LED turn signals, privacy glass, alloy wheels, rear USB-C connector and electrically folding exterior mirrors with LED turn signals.

The new ExecutiveLine also offers amenities such as heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, climate control, a smart key with start/stop button and a wireless charging station for smartphones.

The GT-Line combines the luxury of the ExecutiveLine with unique styling details including the GT-Line LED ‘Light Guide’ strip and 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside it stands out with its GT-Line steering wheel and black GT-Line leather upholstery. It is more comprehensively equipped and offers, among other things, blind spot assist, rear cross traffic assist and a sliding/tilting sunroof.

Price

The first copies of the updated Kia Picanto will arrive in the Netherlands at the end of June 2024. Kia does not include high-end equipment and the price level is therefore comparable to the discontinued model. The Picanto is available as DynamicLine from €18,995. DynamicPlusLine and ExecutiveLine have a starting price of €20,195 and €21,195 respectively. The top sports model, the GT-Line, is available from €22,895. The AMT transmission has an additional cost of €2,000 and the 5-seat version (with manual transmission) has an additional cost of €800.

Like other Kia models, the Picanto also comes with a 7-year or 150,000-mile warranty as standard.
