Polestar: the electric car manufacturer is the first – very elegant

There are always cell phones that use the name of a famous car manufacturer, usually a sports car brand like Porsche or Lamborghini. The result is normal rather than doubtful. Not so with Polestar’s first smartphone.

Polestar wants to show the connection between the phone and the car

If smartphone makers like Xiaomi are allowed to make cars, then it stands to reason that car makers can also make smartphones. Having said that, it is not surprising that Polestar, which is jointly owned by Volvo and Geely, will soon launch a smartphone.

Although this is still a technical secret, Polestar has now released several images of the device and they will definitely leave you wanting more. Some people even go as far as to say that the device is the most luxurious phone in a long time.

How about Android Police According to reports, Polestar is not necessarily pursuing the goal of competing with other manufacturers with smartphones. Instead, the goal is to show what is possible in connected ecosystems. In particular, the Swedish-Chinese carmaker wants to show how its cars communicate with other devices. It is currently unclear whether the Polestar smartphone will enter the market in Western countries. The device was originally intended for China, where it will be launched on April 23. This is no coincidence, as the co-developer of the smartphone is Meizu, a brand owned by Geely.

After the first teaser on the Chinese social network Weibo, the Polestar Phone has now been revealed in all its glory and stands out with its sleek vertical camera design at the back and ultra-thin bezels on the front. Android Police notes that architecture has been Meizu’s strength, as opposed to software – but Polestar has made this the focus of the project and it remains to be seen that it’s doing just as good a job here as it is abroad.
