Kia Motors India has announced that prices for its Seltos, Carens, and Sonet models will be increased in the country, following a hike in the cost of production owing to a number of external factors.

The South Korean automaker has revealed that the price hikes, which will take effect from April 1, will vary on different models and trims. The company has noted that the increase in prices is in line with its commitment to offering technologically-advanced and superior products.

Speaking on the matter, Kia Motors India Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kookhyun Shim, has said: “Kia Motors India has been a forerunner in the Indian automotive industry, offering technologically-advanced and superior products, constantly striving to provide the best to our customers. This price increase is inevitable due to the rise in the cost of production and market conditions.”

Shim has further added: “We remain committed to our customers and are doing our best to keep the price increase to a minimum. We are sure that our customers will understand and appreciate our efforts.”

Kia Motors India launched its Seltos, Carens, and Sonet models in the Indian market in 2019 and 2020, respectively. The company has since been making strides in the Indian automotive industry, exporting more than 100,000 vehicles to more than 80 countries in 2020.
