The Bol d’Or will host the R7 final/top round

For the first time, the European Yamaha R7 SuperFinale will take place as part of the EWC race weekend. This means that Yamaha is moving from WorldSBK to the World Endurance Championship.

After the first two European editions of the Yamaha R7 SuperFinale in 2022 and 2023 took place alongside the FIM Superbike World Championship, Yamaha Racing’s decision to team up with EWC promoter Warner Bros. Discovery Sports is a great development.

The decision to host the Yamaha R7 European SuperFinale at the Circuit Paul Ricard during the Bol d’Or weekend not only underlines the growing appeal of the EWC to motorcycle manufacturers, but also gives Yamaha riders the opportunity to host an EWC event and benefit from the promotion and organization.

With 83,000 fans attending the Bol d’Or last September, there will be no shortage of support for the Yamaha R7 European SuperFinale competitors. This also includes the encouraging words of Niccolò Canepa, Marvin Fritz and Karel Hanika, who won the FIM Endurance World Championship for the Official Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Team as the 86th Bol d’Or that decided the 2023 EWC season. The trio will share insights into the secrets of a fast lap at Circuit Paul Ricard in a question-and-answer session with the Yamaha R7 European SuperFinale riders.

Around 30 riders participating in the national Yamaha Cup and Challenge have been invited to the Yamaha R7 European SuperFinale. After free practice and qualifying, the first of two races will take place on Friday, September 13, before the decision is made on Saturday, September 14, shortly before the Bol d’Or, when the EWC drivers take to the field.

The winner of the European Yamaha R7 SuperFinale will receive the all-new R7, the latest motorcycle in Yamaha’s R range. Second and third place riders will win GYTR Performance Parts vouchers, which they can redeem at their local Yamaha GYTR PRO store. Video highlights will be available on the Yamaha Racing YouTube channel. Updates will be posted on Yamaha Racing’s social media channels and website.

R7 SuperFinale drivers will receive extensive support at the event and will be based in the R7 SuperFinale Village at the EWC. After the mandatory briefing, the riders will visit the trails in Le Castellet with bLU cRU equestrian coach Lorenzo Alfonsi. Alfonsi will advise you on choosing the right line and gear.

The Bol d’Or is organized at Circuit Paul Ricard in France by the Union France Moto-Cyclecariste, Moto Revue and AMCF Sport. It is organized by the Larivière Organization and is under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, Moto Fédératíon Française and the motorcycling leagues of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Ile de France.
