Drive: Serial e-Power with 190 HP (140 kW)

Even after the Nissan Qashqai facelift (2024), power comes from the so-called e-Power drive with 140 kW (190 hp). Instead of drawing electricity to the electric motor from the cable and carrying it around the battery, the electricity is provided by a generator powered by a three-cylinder petrol engine (158 hp/116 kW). Thanks to the variable compression ratio, it always runs in the most efficient speed range and therefore should consume only 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers. However, the system cannot work at all without a buffer battery, whose capacity is 2.1 kWh. There are no other driver options.

Exterior: Branded front and radiator grille in a triangular pattern

The Nissan Qashqai facelift (2024) includes a more angular design, a new radiator grill and revised headlights are very eye-catching. The daytime running lights, which seem to take over the triangular design elements in the radiator grille, are attractive. The same applies to the redesigned interior of the rear lights. Reduced contrast surfaces in black and new exterior colors complete the design. As usual, the crossover can be customized with a two-tone paint finish. Optional 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels in a diamond-cut design aim to emphasize the Qashqai’s dynamic side. Dimensions of length 4425 mm, width 1835 mm and height 1625 mm are not subject to change.

Interiors: New materials and integrated Google services

The interior of the Nissan Qashqai Facelift (2024) is also significantly improved with new decorative elements and materials such as Alcantara.

The Qashqai is the first model in Nissan’s European range to have Google services integrated. After signing in with a Google account, car owners can access their favorite places and attractions through Google Maps. Thanks to over-the-air updates, map information should always be updated. Also on the board there is Google Assistant, which can be started with the voice command “Hey Google”. Google’s built-in services provide access to all kinds of downloadable apps. Amazon Alexa can also be used, for example to play music or news, check the weather forecast or use smart home devices.

Nissan does not provide any specific information on the volume of the trunk, so it will remain at the previous 504 to 1447 liters.

Most of the support systems have been modified

As part of the model update, Nissan also improved the assistance systems. The autonomous emergency braking function is intended to detect hazards earlier and respond more quickly. The lane departure warning system now starts automatically when you start driving. At a speed of more than 60 km/h, the system warns when you leave the lane with steering wheel vibrations and keeps the Nissan Qashqai Facelift (2024) in its lane. Speed assistant warns visually and audibly if the speed limit is exceeded. What is new is that the control buttons on the steering wheel allow the settings of the assistance systems.

Last but not least, the Around View Monitor has also been modified: This combines the images from the four cameras into a bird’s eye view. A new feature is a 3D function that lets you see the car from eight camera perspectives. The “view through the bonnet” mode, in turn, allows a normal view of the front wheels. This also includes “Parking Location Memory”, which can be used to save frequently available parking spaces. The Nissan Qashqai Facelift (2024) recognizes this and automatically parks.

Driving view: This is what the predecessor did

The Qashqai has the same status at Nissan as the Golf does at Volkswagen. So it is not surprising that the third generation also leaves a strong impression and does not make any big mistakes. It remains to be seen whether the decision to stop selling diesel will bear fruit. Either way, the series e-Power hybrid breaks new ground.
