Digital hardware engineers are responsible for researching, designing, testing, and developing various types of digital hardware systems. From microprocessors and circuit boards to radio frequency devices, digital hardware engineers must understand both complex technical concepts and the latest trends in the industry.

At the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, students have the opportunity to pursue a degree in digital hardware engineering. The curriculum requires students to delve deep into the fundamentals of electrical engineering and computer science, as well as explore the latest applications of digital hardware.

The UT Digital Hardware Engineering program consists of three core courses: Technology and Applications of Digital Hardware, Digital Hardware Design and Verification, and Digital Hardware Design and Fabrication. Each of these courses is taught by an experienced faculty member and covers the latest developments in the field.

In Technology and Applications of Digital Hardware, students learn the basics of digital hardware design, including the use of transistors, logic gates, and memory elements. They also explore the software and hardware components that are essential for creating digital hardware systems.
