Lamborghini intends to deliver fully electrified range by the end of 2024. The year 2023 marks the start of the renewal of the range of the Italian manufacturer of the Volkswagen group. The launch of plug-in hybrid models will follow quickly. It’s enough to allow the brand to cut carbon dioxide emissions in half2 its range in two years. Then will come the first 100% electric Lamborghinis, before 2030.

2023: V12 integrated

The Lamborghini Aventador recently bowed out after an eleven-year run, and the 100% V12 fuel brand has just said goodbye under two exclusive models called Autentica and Invencible. The Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murcielago line will get a continuation. Codenamed LB744, Revuelto will launch The all-new V12 inside the plug-in hybrid, the company’s first. This 6.5-liter air block will be equipped with three electric motors, as well as a two-speed eight-speed gearbox. The combined power is 1,015 hp and is sent to all four wheels of this coupe made almost entirely of carbon.

  • Urus S: January 2023 (launched)

  • Autentica: February 2023 (production)
  • Out of sight: February 2023 (production)
  • Revuelto: fall 2023 (launch)

  • Huracan Sterrato: end of 2023 (launch)

2024: full hybrid

In 2024, Lamborghini will launch a hybrid version of the Urus. This variant was talked about even before the arrival of the SUV on the market in 2018, but the final success in its 100% fuel configuration contributed to its postponement. It is also next year a plug-in replacement for the Huracan will be launched. When the Audi R8, with which the Huracan shares its V10, leaves the market without a direct replacement, it is possible that the Italian will change its ten air cylinder against a twin-turbo V8 as the heart of its electric mechanics. What remains to be confirmed.

2028: The first “zero” Lamborghini.

In the middle of this decade, we can expect to discover the next variety of supercars (Spider, etc.). In 2028, Lamborghini will add the fourth model in its range and will be its first 100% electric car. Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of the manufacturer, announced that the car will be inspired by the brand’s old two-door GT 2 + 2 with a new body type. It can be a slightly elevated model.

2030 and beyond: recovery for oil?

Currently, Lamborghini does not aim to be a 100% electric brand. The Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer wants its next-generation supercars, which will be launched in the first half of the 2030s, to stay true to the mix. But Stephan Winkelmann realizes that this maintenance of internal combustion engines in various will depend on the regulations, and especially what the European authorities will decide on synthetic oil.
