Fatal traffic accident on the B 523: Three vehicles involved in a fatal accident – Villingen-Schwenningen and surrounding area

A serious and fatal traffic accident occurred on Saturday around 1.30 pm on the B 523, between Trossingen and Villingen-Schwenningen, near Dauchingen.


A 33-year-old Toyota Lexus driver was driving on the B 523 from Trossingen towards Villingen. For reasons not yet known, he turned left into the opposite lane before leaving Dauchingen and collided head-on with an oncoming Ford Fiesta driven by a 45-year-old man. A 32-year-old VW Passat driver who was driving behind the Toyota The Lexus later collided with two cars in an accident.



The driver of the Lexus was seriously injured in the accident and the nine- and twelve-year-old children who were in the car suffered serious or life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford Fiesta was slightly injured. His 50-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries in the accident and died at the scene. The passengers aged 32, 39 and two in the Passat were slightly injured.

The rescue service was sent by a large group of four rescue helicopters, six ambulances, two ambulances and six emergency doctors. All the injured people were airlifted or rushed to nearby hospitals.

An accident specialist was called

The fire department was on site and around 30 emergency services. The police had eight used patrol cars. The B 523 had to be completely closed until shortly before 6pm while the crash was investigated.

An accident expert was called at the behest of the public prosecutor. The accident was recorded by traffic police experts from Zimmern ob Rottweil. The three vehicles involved each sustained damage totaling around EUR 25,000. All vehicles were towed and secured.
