The presentation of a car as historic as the Defender deserves to be celebrated at the height of an icon. In line with this fact, Jaguar Land Rover delivered the first units of the Defender 75th Limited Edition to its factory in Italy last Friday. Customers who bought only 10 units of this limited edition were invited to visit the brand’s facilities and could see Jaguar Land Rover’s production process in Brazil up close. In addition to visiting the assembly line, customers visited the company’s offices, the test track and the Restoration Clinic, a place specialized in the maintenance and restoration of classic cars of the brand.

The first units of the Defender 75th Limited Edition were presented to their owners by João Oliveira, president of Jaguar Land Rover Latam, and Oscar Neto, operations manager at the Itatiaia plant. “We are happy to bring to our customers a special vehicle like the Defender. One of the goals of our products is to provide an unforgettable experience, and this delivery in our factory reinforces this idea”, said João Oliveira.

“I am delighted and I have loved all this experience and the innovations presented here at the Land Rover factory. I have a model Defender 2023 but I decided to buy this limited edition because it is properly prepared for the event I will do in Ushuaia, Argentina” said customer Luiz Antonio, one of the first to receive the Edition of 75th Limited.

For Hugo Salomone, a customer of the brand since 2008 “Defender is not only a good consumer product, it is more than that. All cars take me places, but Defender has a way of being different” explains the customer.

Bruno Gouolart, one of the customers chosen to receive the car at the factory, explains that the choice of this version was due to its unique nature: “I got this version after meeting it at the dealer. After seeing the car I decided to buy it, mainly because it is a unique, unique, youthful and modern car” explains Bruno.

An immersive and enhanced experience

The delivery of the vehicles at the Jaguar Land Rover factory is part of a new customer experience, developed by the brand’s customer experience team based on the new global standard of Modern Luxury. “The goal is to give the customer an exceptional experience from their first contact with our brands, with dedicated attention and as much exclusivity as possible” explains Henrique Rebello, customer experience manager at Jaguar Land Rover. “We are always looking to offer special and unique experiences to our customers and this offering reinforces this concept”, adds Henrique.

To offer this unique experience to customers, the event had a collaboration with the Mula Preta studio, which worked on the layout with unique furniture, and Pernot Ricard, which offered buyers a blend of its famous Aberlour whiskey, with numbered bottles and special.

Sales in record time

A global off-road icon for Land Rover, the Defender 75th Limited Edition was created to celebrate the brand’s 75th anniversary, with details that recount its history of global success. The car search was very successful, and all the units were sold within minutes.

The Defender 75th Limited Edition is finished in Grasmere Green, a color exclusive to the edition and introduced for the first time on the new Defender. Its beautiful 20-inch alloy wheels also got a special paint job in the same shade of green. Still on the outside, the car has a unique 75-year-old livery, including Ceres Silver colored bumpers. The rugged and versatile interior of the Defender has been given a unique treatment, with the console finished in Grasmere Green and laser engraving on the edges of the dash. The seats are finished in Resist Ebony, with center console accents made from Robustec – the premium premium material available in the Defender.

The limited version is based on the HSE version, the most complete of the entire range, with a large equipment list. Among the highlights of the Defender 75 technology package, a 3D Surround camera, Meridian Sound System, Matrix LED headlights, 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system, Head-Up Display and a charging kit wireless, and a panoramic sliding roof.

Car comfort is ensured by special seats with electric memory capacity, heating with 14 adjustment options, heated steering wheel and three-zone climate control.

Powerful and technological engine

The engine chosen to prepare the 75th anniversary edition of the Defender was the Diesel MHEV, a choice that makes the perfect balance between power to conquer the most diverse areas and technology to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The MHEV engine combines a 300hp a-cylinder engine with an alternator that is also capable of working as an electric motor. The alternator uses engine speed to generate electrical current and recovers energy when the vehicle decelerates, charging the 48-volt lithium battery installed in the vehicle. It works like an electric motor, it uses this energy from the battery to start/stop the engine and provide the necessary torque support to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The Defender is available in Brazil in 90, 5-seater, 110 5- and 7-seater and 130 and 8-seater versions, all with 300hp six-cylinder MHEV diesel engines. For more information about Defender click this link.
