Saturday 28 January in Cupra Marittima, starting at 10.00, in the Municipal buildings in Piazza della Libertà the opening event of the new Ecosportello organized by the Municipality together with the Marche Zero Waste Association and PicenAmbiente.
The Municipality of Cupra Marittima has adopted a Zero Waste Strategy since 2017, aiming to achieve simple but important goals:
– Reducing the impact on nature of human activities.
– Disseminate good practices related to waste management.
– Strengthen the collection of separate waste.
– Avoid significant increases in waste management costs.
– Raising awareness and educating citizens with special attention to youth.

As part of this project, separate waste collection has reached 70.6% in recent years. Environmental education activities were organized for schools and citizens and in 2018 the Cupra environmental project was launched, targeting businesses that are committed to reducing waste and packaging by signing a good practice code.
But they do not want to end there and, therefore, we decided to work with the aim of improving the results obtained and the quality of services by conducting experiments, together with PicenAmbiente and Marche Zero Waste Association, opening a competent office. to provide important information and at the same time carry out environmental awareness activities: Ecosportello. Citizens do not need new hardware, more burners, but better services, new community programs.
Hoping to be able to make further progress on the quality of service and the growth of the civic sense of our community, we invite you to participate in abundance!
In order to achieve effective and lasting results, we consider the participation of all citizens to be important: separate waste collection is an organizational process that only works if everyone participates!
Our efforts are aimed at improving the area and our future, trying to involve the population and conveying the message of better waste management for the benefit of all. of cooperation and solidarity.
To be able to take, all together, more steps forward on the quality of services and the growth of the civic sense of our community.
Mayor Alessio Piersimoni, Deputy Mayor Lucio Spina and the managing director of PicenAmbiente Leonardo Collina will take part in the event, telling us how the goal of zero waste is achieved, showing some of the proposals for change that apply in our area: how to reduce the use of paper. and plastic and food waste, promoting the use of tap water, composting food scraps, increasing separate collection, learning how to prevent, reuse or recycle waste.
