Ferrari team battle: Charles Leclerc stays well / Formula 1

Charles Leclerc has so far lost in a head-to-head battle against Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard was the fastest of his two teammates in Bahrain as well as Melbourne and Suzuka. The Spaniard was unable to participate in the race in Saudi Arabia because of his gastric bypass surgery. “The start of Bahrain is difficult to compare because I had a few problems. But I think more than that I had a good weekend there. But in the last two races he was stronger than me. So it’s up to me to eliminate weaknesses and work especially on speed qualifying, which is actually one of my strengths,” said the five-time GP winner candidly.

At the same time, he boldly emphasized: “I had a hard time getting a good lap recently and there is a fine line between success and failure when it comes to putting the tires in the right window of operation. Carlos was better than me – and he also drives at a level very high, which is good for the team and also for me. But I’ve worked hard on it and usually when I focus on certain weaknesses I can improve quickly.”
