Autovisie doesn’t only test electric cars for their range and use, we also test what they use in practice with petrol and hybrid cars. This time we test how economical the latest Volkswagen Tiguan is.
The difference between the manufacturer’s specifications and actual use is large for some vehicles. For this reason, Autovisie tests the actual average usage in practice, for example, air conditioning and radio. This way you know exactly how economical the car is.
Volkswagen Tiguan
Autovisie drives the Volkswagen Tiguan in the R-Line Business version with a 1.5 eTSI mated to a DSG automatic transmission. This powertrain consists of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder which, together with a 48V hybrid system, produces 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. According to the WLTP measurement method, the SUV consumes 6.0 liters per 100 km.
Real use Volkswagen Tiguan
The power of 150 hp sounds difficult for a car of this size, but thanks to the great torque of the engine, which is available from very low revs – perhaps thanks to the hybrid system – the 1.5 already moves well on the ground and is enough. you (even after 7:00 PM) can easily find each other on the highway.
Usage and environment | Volkswagen |
---|---|
Average WLTP consumption | 6.0 l/100 km |
Average test usage | 6.3 l/100 km |
Frequency | 873 kilometers |
Environmental label | C |
CO2 emissions | 140 g/km |
If you manage the printing of the Volkswagen Tiguan properly, lower consumption is possible. Even with optional big wheels and sports tires, 1:15.8 was achieved, which is not far from the factory target.
Cycle of use
Autovisie itself tests the application independently during a double test in the Netherlands. Please note that usage may vary as it depends on your driving style, weather and many other factors.
