In the race, Lewis Hamilton was able to capture three championship points in sixth place. However, he looked very sad afterwards as he explained: “I just want to get through to the next race.”
What’s wrong with Lewis Hamilton? In Qatar, the statements of the seven-time world champion are not only causing headaches for his fans, British experts and journalists are also worried about the recent words of the GP record winner, who seems unusually sad.
After a fast qualifying, Hamilton surprised the public with his relentless self-criticism. The 39-year-old Brit explained: I’m just slow. Like every weekend. The car felt relatively decent. So it’s not like there was a problem with that. I really have nothing more to say.”
The 105-time GP winner started the race well and passed Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc once. The Monegasque was able to counterattack later in the race, but Hamilton still scored three championship points in sixth place. But this did not make the famous Mercedes star happy.
On the contrary – Hamilton seemed disappointed when he answered the question of his colleagues in “Sky Sports F1” if he thought things would go well with Ferrari next year: “I don’t know, I can’t say that.”
“It wasn’t good and at this point I don’t care. I just want to get through the next few races and do my job. And I’m already looking forward to the winter break,” added the former all-time winner, looking sad.
At the same time, he stressed: “When I woke up this morning, I thought to myself that the most important thing was to say goodbye with gratitude. And I am also very grateful for the opportunity to do what I love – even if there are days when love is not so good. But I am so grateful to be able to be here among these amazing athletes. Of course it hurts when things don’t go right. Nobody likes to lose, but that’s part of it.
