BMW X3: the next generation is on the rise (2024)

The third-generation BMW X3 was launched in 2017 and will be discontinued in 2021, meaning that the time will come to pass the baton to its successor. The fourth generation is currently completing its rigorous testing to iron out the final kinks before its official launch. The German manufacturer even announces that the new X3 will be delivered within a few weeks.

Stronger and better

BMW announces, among other things, that the new BMW X3 will have a wider rear track, stronger chassis, direct steering and redesigned anti-roll bars. All improvements that should make it more powerful and more comfortable than its predecessor.

More technology on board

The new BMW X3 will of course also receive the latest generation of the manufacturer’s infotainment system, with a curved dual-screen panel. The latest driver assistance systems should also find their way into the premium mid-size SUV. But although the technology on board is taken to a new level, BMW still announces that the iDrive control on the central console will remain using the central touchscreen.

Combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and M, but no electric version…

Like the current generation, this new BMW X3, which is built on the same platform as its predecessor, will retain its combustion engines and hybrid hybrid systems. An M version is also in the pipeline, as can be seen from the four exhaust pipes of the test models in some of the photos! The electric IX3 won’t be updated until next year and will go its own way. It will be a different model, like the production version of the Vision Neue Klasse X.
