‘Jaguar will soon launch an all-new competitor to the BMW i7’

We’ve known the I-Pace from Jaguar for years. But other than that (and the Formula E car), there are no electric cars from the brand yet. But that will soon change.

We recently waved goodbye to the V8 for the F-Type. It was already clear that Jaguar would focus on EVs. How could it be otherwise in this day and age? There were plans for an electric XJ, but it was scrapped in 2021. Now there’s something completely new on the table, reports a British newspaper Motor vehicle.

It travels up to 765 kilometers on an electric Jaguar

It would be a luxury, electric sedan that would compete with cars like the BMW i7, an insider told Autocar. The figures mentioned are not deceiving: at least 450 hp, 0 to 100 sprint time between 3.0 and 3.8 seconds and distance between 620 and 765 km.

If you choose the wrong payment terminal, it can cost you a lot of money

This luxury electric sedan is not the only Jaguar to which these features apply. The sedan appears on the new JEA platform, which will also include the four-seater GT (as a sporty version of the sedan) and the Bentley Bentayga-sized SUV. All electric, of course.

The previous Jaguar logo

Jaguar’s new electric models will have their own design language. So the sedan will no longer resemble the XJ that we have known for a long time. There is also no more space for the familiar Jaguar logo. From now on, the brand name will be written and there will be a continuous LED strip at the back, the British newspaper reports. All this according to the current trend.

Late next year, Jaguar will pull the curtain on the four-seat GT, which will hit dealerships in 2025. The SUV and sedan will follow later. Because the new electric cars are so different from Jaguar’s current models, they will all cease production by 2025, according to CEO Adrian Mardell.

Sales target of 4,000 electric cars per month

The new force should pull the Jaguar out of the effect. The goal is to sell 4,000 Jaguars every month. “North America, the UK and Europe are regions where Jaguar has sold well in the past and we will sell well here again. We also have China. Our brand has never been here and Jaguar has never left the Chinese market, but now we are starting to understand it better,” Mardell told Autocar.
