Lexus LBX: How does the new little Lexus drive?

Ah, a brand new style. Are you sure of electricity?

No, not true. LBX is ‘just’ a hybrid. So he’s more likely to focus on cars like the Audi Q2 than the new Volvo EX30. Although it has almost the same price (from 36 grand, 33.5 in Belgium).

Lexus doesn’t make small cars, right?

That’s right, this is a first for them. The CT (C-section) was originally their entry-level model; Now you can find this Lexus LBX in the B-crossover segment. It shares its platform with the Yaris Cross, but has a longer and arguably more luxurious wheelbase.

Will I get massage chairs and 28 speakers?

Not an exaggeration. But Lexus offers four sky for: Elegant, Emotion, Relax and Cool, which do not differ much in price, but even more in terms of decoration and color scheme. And yes: there is the optional voice of Mark Levinson. And only thirteen speakers.

What about technology?

All LBXs have the same power: a 1.2 cylinder with an electric motor, good for 136 hp and a 0 to 100 time of 9.2 seconds. That’s not fast, but speed isn’t the focus of the Lexus LBX. Comfort, refinement and true economy, that’s what you want. The finish and insulation are just Lexus, as is the driving experience. This is a little guy who is trying his best to be big to you.

Is the Lexus LBX also big on the inside?

Oh, um, sore spot. As Dutch adults, it is difficult for us to sit in the back if the front seat is adjusted to ourselves. The door can only be closed with your knees close to the front seat. No, LBX will not break any ground in this area.
