Lidl starts selling and renting electric cars

Lidl already has a new electric car on offer – it’s China’s Elaris Finn. Cars can be bought and rented – currently only in Germany.

Electric cars at Lidl

The small two-door car is only 2.87 meters long, but it is a fully electric car with a range of up to 300 km on a single charge and a top speed of 115 km / h.

A battery with a capacity of 32 kWh allows you to reach only 200 km in practice, but the car can be useful for daily use in the city. A smaller battery can power a heavier vehicle. 1 ton, but the battery can be fully charged in just one hour.

The list price of the car is EUR 20,330, which with the environmental bonus offered in Germany (minus EUR 6,000) gives EUR 14,330. You can also hire a car at Lidl as part of the subscription.

Vehicle discount registration

Renting a car through the Lidl app costs EUR 222 per month. This service is only available in the Lidl Plus app. This makes the two-door Elaris Finn from China the cheapest electric car on the German market.

The Schwarz Group, owner of Lidl and Kaufland, is also announcing other new measures to protect the climate. It is increasing solar energy production and installing thousands of new photovoltaic plants. Since the start of the 2022 fiscal year, the global corporate has been getting all of its electricity from renewable sources.
