Nissan is revising its 2024 targets downward

Nissan will do slightly better than announced in 2024. The Japanese group has revealed its new forecast for the financial year that started in April. It is now aiming for an annual net profit of 370 billion yen compared to 290 billion previously (around 2.5 billion euros).

However, this is a significant increase (+66%) compared to the financial year that has just ended. Yokohama also adjusted its operating profit from 620 billion yen to 530 billion, and its sales target should drop by 400 billion yen, or, in euros, a target of 76.6 billion (+19 % for one year).

Nissan is missing its 2023 sales target

It must be said that the last financial year was very bad. Nissan missed its sales target (although revised downwards) with 3.44 million vehicles sold, against the promised 3.55 million. The Japanese company is particularly facing poor performance in China where the offensive of local brands has reduced its sales.

Nissan, which knows that it is in the market due to poor commercial performance, had announced a strategic offensive plan in March 2024. It had announced the goal of increasing its sales to one million units by 2027.
