Climbing

MedinCell (+16%): The biotech enters into a partnership with AbbVie to develop and commercialize up to six products in different therapeutic areas. MedinCell will use its technology platform for the development of these treatments and will be responsible for pre-clinical activities up to the clinical stage, while AbbVie will fund and drive clinical and commercial development.

Adidas (+7.5%): The German sports equipment manufacturer had a good first quarter and is raising its expectations. Sales for the full fiscal year should increase between 5% and 10%. Operating profit is expected to be around 700 million euros, compared to 500 million euros previously.

LVMH (+4.5%): the world leader in luxury posted less than impressive results, below expectations. But the publication is generally encouraging, especially regarding China and the United States. The diversity of the group still enables navigation in an uncertain geographical and economic context.

Rio Tinto (+3%).

ASOS (+3%): The British online fashion retailer is maintaining its sales forecast despite an 18% drop in sales in the first half. Tone is meant to bring calmness in communication. Â

AB’s Volvo (+2%): the Swedish truck maker delivered adjusted operating results for the first quarter that exceeded expectations despite a decline compared to the same period last year. The previous exercise was quite unique. Demand continues to be normal and forecasts are being confirmed.

Entertain (+2%): The first quarter of the betting operator is in line with the forecast. Events like the Super Bowl and the NCAA basketball tournament helped keep the goals going.

To fall

TomTom (-13%): The digital map specialist recorded an operating loss of 4.9 million euros in the first quarter, compared to a profit of 2.6 million euros a year ago in the same period. R&D spending weighed heavily on profits.

continent (-5.5%): Despite below-expected results in the first quarter, the car supplier confirmed its forecast for the year. Sales should be between 41 and 44 billion euros. High labor costs and ongoing price negotiations with customers weighed on the beginning of the year.

ASML (-4%): The manufacturer of lithographic machines for the semiconductor industry experienced a drop in net profit in the first quarter. It stands at 1.22 billion euros. Above all, it is a disappointing book to order. The group contributes 3.6 billion euros while analysts target 5.4 billion euros. Managing director Peter Wennink describes this year as a transitional exercise. 2025 should be better.Â

Derichebourg (-4%): The steelmaker is warning about its results for the current financial year. EBITDA is expected between 300 and 310 million euros, compared to the previous forecast of more than 350 million euros. The consequences of the cyber attack suffered last November are expected to be more significant than expected. The economic situation is also not good.

Thermador (-2.5%): The fluid distribution equipment specialist saw its sales fall 17.2% in the first quarter. Delays in the distribution of subsidies from the MaPrimeRénov’ program have punished demand, as has the new housing market in France which is at an all-time low. The company however wants to be encouraging throughout the year and medium term.
