He decided to get behind the wheel of a Honda while drinking and was banned from driving for life. The trip ended in a road accident. As it turned out, he had about 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.

The incident happened last Saturday. A few minutes after 5.00 pm, the emergency services received a report, which indicated that two passenger cars had collided in the town of Ustrzesz in the Radzyń district.

– According to the reports of participants, the driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan, a 44-year-old resident of Radzyń Podlaski, did not give way to the driver of the Honda Civic at the intersection of municipal roads. A field sobriety test showed that the Volkswagen driver was sober, while the 40-year-old Honda driver had about 2 per mille of alcohol in his body. In addition, during the operations carried out by uniformed officers, it turned out that the person has a lifetime ban on driving – reports to Deputy Commissioner Piotr Mucha from Radzyń Police.

The Honda driver will soon be held accountable for his behavior in court. Driving while intoxicated during the prohibition period is punishable by up to 5 years in prison. A 40-year-old must also consider benefit payments to the Fund for Victim Support and Post-Prison Support in an amount not less than PLN 10,000.
