A Maine woman is facing charges for allegedly making threats that caused the closure of a Walmart in New Hampshire, authorities said.
Rochelle McDonald, 48, of Sanford, Maine, was charged with making a false report, a felony, after police received a call from an individual who claimed to have placed explosives inside the store located in Seabrook, N.H., according to a press release from the Seabrook Police Department.
The store was evacuated and closed on Sunday night following the threats.
McDonald was identified through an investigation conducted by the Seabrook Police Department, in conjunction with the New Hampshire State Police and other agencies, as the individual who made the call.
McDonald was located in Sanford and taken into custody without incident.
Authorities said McDonald confessed to making the threats and was transported to the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood, N.H., where she is being held on a $25,000 cash bail.
Police stated that no explosives were found inside the store, and that the threat was deemed to be unsubstantiated.
McDonald is slated to appear in the 10th Circuit Court-Seabrook Division on Tuesday morning.
