Man sells his mother’s Rolls-Royce to pay off nightclub debts

In Singapore, a 33-year-old man was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison after trying to pay off his debt by selling his mother’s Rolls-Royce, according to “Business Inside” reported.

Accordingly, Liu L. forged his mother’s signature on the sales contracts in order to be able to sell the car. Liu initially found himself in dire financial straits after accumulating huge debts in clubs called “diao hua”. In these nightclubs, patrons can tip players by buying belts and flower crowns.

The girlfriend posed as a mother for sale

As Business Insider reports, Liang convinced a car dealer to let his mother approve the sale of two of his cars – a Rolls-Royce Dawn 6.6 V12 and a Mini Cooper SE.

He claimed that his mother was in Taiwan and had agreed to be sold. However, this “approval” came from one of Liu’s friends, who pretended to be his mother to confirm the sale.

The sale of the cars brought more than half a million euros to Sohn

Liu received a total of $614,000 (about €566,660) from the car dealer for both cars. However, his mother found out about the sale and informed the police. The 33-year-old was charged with forgery.

In court, Liu’s defense explained that his mother had given him the use of her cars “if necessary” and had forgiven him for selling them. According to the defense, Liu’s mother tried to withdraw her police report and return the deposit to the dealer to get her cars back.

In the judgment, the judge involved explained that there was not just one, but two victims in this case: the car salesman and the mother.
