Pretty cool: Ten Kate at Assen with an orange Yamaha/Supersport World Championship

The sports team Ten Kate Racing always comes with a special offer for its home race in Assen. On Friday evening, the special design of the Yamaha R6 was presented by Glenn van Straalen.

Ten Kate Yamaha has signed up young Dutchman Glenn van Straalen alongside Stefano Manzi for the 2024 Supersport World Championship. The Nieuwleusen team took the meeting in Assen as an opportunity to give the local hero Yamaha R6 a special paint job.

The motorcycle was launched on Friday evening in the presence of many sponsors, friends and relatives. The 23-year-old will spend the rest of the weekend wearing the bright orange that Holland is known for the world over.

“I think the special painting is very good,” van Straalen highlighted. “It turned out really well and I’m very happy with the result. It’s obviously a special race weekend here at the TT Circuit Assen and I think we’ll definitely show up now. I’d like to thank all the sponsors, partners and other people involved, the team and myself, and I’m looking forward to racing in front of Dutch fans this weekend.

Of course, van Straalen is especially motivated in his home race. He already took second place in the second Supersport race in 2022, but he also has accidents.

By the way: Manzi will also participate in the weekend race later in the year with a special identity.

“As in previous years, we are trying to come up with something special for our home race. We are not doing it with both drivers this year, but we have something special here in Assen with Glenn and we will do it in Misano with Stefano,” explained team manager Kervin Bos. “We are proud of that and it makes our home race even more special. The fact that we have a Dutchman at the start again this year makes it a special story.
