It was a memorable day for the Vice Chancellor of Nassarawa University, Nassarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Prof. Suleiman BalaMuhammed, as Nigerians from various walks of life, including officials of the University of Lincoln, Malaysia, gathered to celebrate his achievement as a principal. of that institution.

Dignitaries at the event included the Governor of Nasarawa State, AbdullahiSule, and former Governor Senator Tanko Al-makura, who said the ceremony was an important moment in recognizing the exceptional leadership and dedication of Muhammed.

Under the visionary leadership of Muhammed, with the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC), 10 full-time undergraduate programs were established at the NSUK Main Campus under the National Education (TNE) status.

These programs, including B.Sc. Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Nursing, Psychology, Accounting, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, and Mass Communication, mark a bold step in enhancing educational opportunities.

President and Founder, University of Lincoln, Malaysia, Prof. BhaumikAmiya presented Muhammed with the honorary award for “International Education and Visionary Leadership” at a well-attended event in Keffi.

Amiya who was represented by the CEO of Lincoln Nigeria, Dr. MurtadhoAlao, said the award recognizes the past role of the VC in promoting international education programs in NSUK and facilitating the establishment of Lincoln University Malaysia as the first foreign teaching institution approved by NUC under the TNE policy.

Amiya also announced the award of full scholarship worth N90 million to 30 deserving students of the institution.

He added that the reform plan underscores Muhammed’s commitment to promote academic excellence and access to Nigerian students.
Amiya further said that the establishment of Lincoln University NSUK keffi campus is to create access to quality education through scholarships and affordable tuition fees.

The NUC’s TNE policy, subject to the approval of the Federal Government, aims to enhance access to higher education enrollment, quality, research, development, employment opportunities and foreign direct investment.
The approval of the University of Lincoln Malaysia to conduct academic activities under the TNE program, confirmed by the NUC, marks an important step in the development of educational cooperation.

Already, NUC has confirmed the status of Lincoln University Malaysia, confirming its approval to conduct academic activities under the International Education Programme.

Scholars believed that the endorsement underscores the Nigerian government’s commitment to expanding access to education and quality through innovative partnerships.
