Chery Exlantix ET: Premium electric SUV before market launch

Exeed, a brand of Chinese automaker Chery, has started production with the high-end electric SUV Exeed ET. The electric car is now available to customers in China, with first deliveries expected by March. With this new model, Exeed increases the competition in the already crowded electric SUV market.

Exeed ET will also come to Europe. But then under the brand name Exlantix. Due to the similarity of the name with the known models from the market competitor Kia, the name of the brand new was decided in Europe. Built on Chery’s electric platform called E0X, the Exlantix ET shares its technical base with the Exlantix ES, launched at the end of last year, and the Luxeed S7, a collaboration between Chery and Huawei.

If we look at the Exlantix ET, we see an amazing design with a closed front grille design, LED daytime running lights and an interactive lighting system. With dimensions of 4955 mm in length, 1975 mm in width and 1698 mm in height as well as a wheelbase of 3000 mm, the SUV is in direct competition with popular models such as Li Auto L6 and Aito M7 in China.

The electric car offers a sunroof as standard. Optional and, above all, visible features include light alloy wheels, red brake calipers, rearview mirror cameras, tinted glass, chrome window trim, laser radar, special front grille design , matt silver badges front and back, metal. gray stripes against the scratch, fender decorations and other details.

Viewed from the rear, the E-SUV looks like a Porsche Macan at first glance, but when viewed from the side it reveals itself with a longer wheelbase and a more unique design.

Since the ET is based on the ES electric sedan platform, it can be assumed that the most powerful models will use the 800-volt platform, while others will rely on 400 volts. The use of an 800-volt system also ensures equally fast charging. 200 km should be charged in ten minutes and the battery should be charged to 80 percent within 20 minutes.

The Exlantix ET will start with a two-wheel-drive system. The engine on the front axle produces a maximum of 183 kW (245 hp), while the engine on the rear axle reaches up to 230 kW (315 hp). Depending on the battery variant, which is between 60.7 and 97.7 kWh, the car should have a range of 500 to 700 km. Remember in the Chinese circuit CLTC. In Germany, the sedan can be expected in the third quarter of 2024 and the SUV in the period of 2025.
