Volvo World houses the brand’s past and future in Gothenburg, Sweden

Volvo Group and Volvo cars have long been separate entities, but both companies were founded and share headquarters in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. To celebrate the brand’s past and future, they joined forces to create The world of Volvoa multi-purpose building located in a 236,000 square foot, five-story building that opened its doors last week.

“We want people to come here to learn about the past, the present but, most importantly, the future of Volvo. We would like to make it a meeting place for Gothenburg and a place where tourists put on top of their must-sees,” explained Magnus Wrahme, CEO of World of Volvo.

The equipment was built according to the most sustainable and environmentally friendly concepts and materials. The common areas and the catering area are available free of charge to the public. For an affordable entry fee, visitors can enter the showroom and enjoy the full experience of playing video games focused on road safety – a theme around Volvo – and seeing Volvo cars from different eras. The facilities also allow for world-class concerts and conference presentations.

Roger Alm, president of the Volvo Group, said Volvo Trucks will invite customers to the Volvo World, hold product launches and regularly hand out keys to trucks purchased by customers.
