Maserati GranCabrio Folgore, the luxury Trident convertible

The third electrical model of Maserati, GranCabrio Folgore It is the first open house for Trident. ‘Made in Modena’ from the luxury segment, worth 202,000 euros, which joins the GranTurismo and the Grecale SUV, both Folgore, i.e. fully driven: developed with technical solutions derived from the Formula E, it provides outstanding performance thanks to the 800° . One front engine and two rear, for a total theoretical power of 1,200 hp: the car produces 761 hp, which jumps to 830 hp in the MaxBoost mode of the Corsa configuration.

This set of four seats has a roof that can be operated even when moving up to 50 kilometers per hour, which opens in 14 seconds (closing in 16 seconds): to do this, just press the control on the central display without taking yours. eyes off the road and therefore without distraction. If desired, the neck heat allows you to travel with the roof open even when it is not very hot, while the wind block fights the turbulence in the passenger compartment, to achieve several goals: acoustic and fuel comfort and road safety.

A luxury convertible that combines luxury and functionality, the comfort of the highest quality materials and playability, also thanks to the soft top canvas, available in five colors (black, sea blue, titanium gray, greige, garnet). A long bonnet and a central body interrupted by four pillars, the new arrival has a fabric roof that allows it to maintain a clean line even in a closed position. So “bonnet” is created from the union of the words “bonnet” and “mudguard”: one part is placed on the car that connects these two parts. At the front, vertical headlamps, like the brand’s shiny signature, while the grille houses the three-sided Trident logo. At the back, the lamp is a mix between a vintage and a harpoon shape.

The GranCabrio Folgore is based on a strong and light architecture, thanks to materials such as aluminum and magnesium and high-performance steels. A lot of technology, including the Mia multimedia system (Maserati’s intelligent assistant), the latest news of the new generation, a display that brings together the main features in an integrated touch interface. Whoever gets behind the wheel of Maserati’s latest arrival will be very impressed, thanks to the car’s central controller that manages all the basic dynamics systems.

Performance? A top speed of 290 km/h and 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, with a range between 419 and 447 km depending on the tires. Fast charging of 270 kW takes place in 18 minutes to go from 20 to 80%, while the wall box of 22 kW returns 100 km in 60 minutes. Among the various advantages, Vdcm (Vehicle domain control module) to select the operating modes of the powertrain : the car can be behind the wheel or wheel drive. The promise of a house?
